Sumas Mountain Road, Abbotsford, British Columbia

This project required a retaining wall 15 feet high (4.6 m) cut into a slope with no room for geogrid due to a tight property line and limited construction window.

Soil conditions consisted of very stiff silt with interbeds of gravel.

The AnchorFast Retaining Wall also included tiedowns and micropile-reinforced foundation base plates.

The wall construction significantly reduced the excavation requirements to accommodate the new roadway. Power pole was able to remain in-place during construction.

The wall was constructed in 21 days.
