Sharp Street, New Westminster, British Columbia: Hillside Stabilization

This AnchorFast Retaining Wall Project required a 20 foot high (6 m) retaining wall to restore and stabilize a landslide impacted slope that had undermined an adjacent building at the top of slope. The slide area below was left in a very steep and unstable condition. The landslide straddled two properties. The area at the base of the landslide was narrow and needed to be maintained for drive-way access to an existing storage yard. Project Challenges: No room for traditional geogrid reinforcement or cantilevered rein-forced concrete retaining wall. Limited working room. Wall needed to support building surcharge and earthquake forces in active seismic zone.
